Album studio terakhir band ini dirilis pada tanggal 23 September 1993 dan menampilkan single hit 'All Apologies', yang terkenal ditampilkan dalam penampilan MTV Unplugged mereka pada tahun yang sama, dan 'Heart Shaped Box'

Pada tanggal 27 Oktober mendatang, album penting ini akan diterbitkan ulang dalam beberapa format termasuk delapan set kotak LP super deluxe edisi terbatas, lima set kotak CD super deluxe, satu edisi LP + 10 inci, dua CD edisi deluxe, dan edisi super deluxe digital.

Tiga edisi super deluxe terdiri dari total 72 lagu dengan 53 lagu yang belum pernah dirilis sebelumnya.

Ini juga mencakup dua konser penuh, termasuk 'Live In Los Angeles' (1993) dan penampilan terakhir band di Seattle, 'Live In Seattle' (1994), selain enam bonus lagu live dari Roma, Springfield, dan New York.

Produser Jack Endino juga telah merekonstruksi trek live dari kaset papan suara stereo untuk diterbitkan ulang.

Selain itu, 12 lagu asli ‘In Utero’, bersama dengan lima lagu bonus dan B-side, baru saja di-remaster dari kaset stereo master analog original oleh Bob Weston di Chicago Mastering Services.

Set kotak fisik edisi super deluxe juga mencakup panel akrilik sampul depan yang dapat dilepas dengan gambar Angel yang ikonik dari album tersebut, buku sampul tebal 48 halaman dengan foto-foto yang belum pernah dirilis, fanzine 20 halaman yang baru dirancang, litograf poster tur Los Angeles karya artis hot rod Coop, replika promo toko kaset Angel mobile tahun 1993, tiga brosur pertunjukan, dua potongan tiket untuk Los Angeles dan Seattle, laminasi tur All-Access, dan empat tiket tur di belakang panggung yang lengket.

Perilisan ini juga mengikuti penerbitan ulang khusus LP bersejarah mereka ‘Nevermind’, yang dirilis pada tahun 2021.
